I have been trying to make a block of text links with an output of 5 rows with 5 links/descriptons per row.
Example:
Link Link Link Link Link
Link Link Link Link Link
Link etc...
If I alter the text link format to this
<a href="%%URL%%">%%DESCRIPTION%%</a>
and then make the template content for 1-5 AND THEN make another template with 6-10, another 7-11 etc..., I can get the job done.
This just seems nasty though. Any easier way other than to code the text galleries to work like thumb galleries and just replace the thumbs with description.

If i understood you correct, you will only have to paste something like this to your template:
<table width="430" >
<tr>
<td>%%galleries,text,1-5,babes%%</td>
<td>%%galleries,text,6-10,babes%%</td>
<td>%%galleries,text,11-15,babes%%</td>
<td>%%galleries,text,16-20,babes%%</td>
<td>%%galleries,text,21-25,babes%%</td>
</tr>
</table>
Oder hab ich das falsch verstanden?
