Hello kaktus. All of a sudden, my pics are not resizing correctly. Just noticed this when I created a new feed. (using the same template I always use).
See example here.
http://www.porkiesporn.com/gs/feeds/feed215.xml
I called my host, (lunarpages), and they advised me that they upgraded image magik to the newest version.
When GS updates a feed on it's own, pics are resizing properly. When I update a feed by hitting the 'Update' button, the resulting added item is HUGE!
Thanks
Tom |

ask your host support if the new image magick has support for JPEG files. also aks if php exec() functions are available in your php _________________

kaktus. Pictures are resizing properly when gs updates my feeds automatically on it's own. It's just not working correctly when i manually hit the 'update' button. |

that doesn't make any sense, since same code and stuff is used.
ask your host what exactly has been changed recently, since script can't stop working by itself.
the only thing i see, could be permissions issue because from web and cronjob probably different users are used, but if it was like that via web your image would not have been saved at all, while it is saved but not resized. so it means it is either image magick problem or php exec() functions problem _________________

Got this from my host:
Hi Tom,
You may want to try and enable PHP 5 to see if resolves the issue, I see that you are using PHP 4.4.7 and your scripts may require PHP 5 to run the convert. You can enable this in Cpanel>Enable PHP 5, please advise if this corrects the issue. If this does not work we can forward this right away to our admins. Please advise.
Would this have anything to do with my problem?
Thanks |

ok, fixed.
the deal was that convert was not anymore in /usr/bin/convert as was set in your settings, but in /usr/local/bin/convert
now all works fine.
and i don't know how the thumbs made from cron would been normal size, since the old convert path is not valid anymore... _________________

Thanks! I asked the host if the convert path was still the same and they ASSURED me that it was! Appreciate the help. As always, outstanding support from you! Most appreciated.

By the way, a 'global' enable/disable button would be a nice feature to have. |

It was a pain to disable all my feeds until the problem was solved. Would have been nice to be able to 'disable' all of them with one click! |
