wasnt able to find anything good in the manual, soo
i suppose its the total number of galleries in the generated RSS file, and i assume that old are dropped when new ones get it,
but since BO does usually not add all, only a few of them i dont get them points,
is there a rough number you recommend to set, or some mathematics i can do to hit the right number

the number entries is how much entries/posts would be displayed in the feed. If you set it to 10, script will start adding new entries to the feed, and when they get to higher than 10, any new ones will be pushed to the top and the old ones removed from the feed. BO reads whole feed and looks for new unimported entries, so it will crawl everything with the time. Generally 10-20 entries is fine in the feed to be displayed at once

okay that what i supposed it would be, then i got a problem, my GS isn?t updating the feeds,
it does when i click on update (it adds one) but they are currently stucked at 8 per feed,
i checked the crons and GS cron is there
since the update interval is set on 8 hours i assumed that 3 new gals would be pushed into the feed in 24 hours |

well, what number you have put in "number entries" field of the feed settings? Also make sure there are enough galleries in db, cronjobs to be working fine too.

hm..ok.. when you click on "update" button in your feeds list, does the feed regenerate and new entry is being added? Also check your galleries if are okay, GS might fail to create new entries from several bad gallery formats from which it can't locate and extract content.

this is currently the only way i get it updating,
cronjobs look ok too
on bad gallery formats i really dont have influence
i realized, and also read here, that for Topbucks galleries it doesnt work, but they are different, since when after a click on update it adds 1 it must be something different |

when by hand works and from cron not, then it looks like server permissions issue. Probably the cronjob is running with another system user and it has no permissions to write to the feed file and thumbs directory.
Ask your host admin to look on that..

 GS is still not updating i talked to my host and we tried several things, best would be if you have a look at it, but i am fine when youre back from vacation, those aren?t big traffic sites for now, so now need to hurry |
