yeah, i can install it, but didn't it need API key for each blog?
As long as i remember they charge like $100 a month for high trafficed sites and I can't really afford that to keep the hosting free..
or can each user like you get his own keys and use them just for their own blogs? I mean can each user insert his own key, or i as an admin should insert global key for all sites?
Sorry, i am not really familiar with how it works.. _________________

both ways work.
you can set a global key in the plugin file or you can set a different key for every blog in the dashboard. just let us use our own keys.
PS: i use only one key since years on hundreds of blogs. and thats a free key. everyone can get a free key with a wordpress.com account. |

If it is really like you say, then it would be best to use 1 global api key and have the plugin activated by default, so you won't be loosing time to activate and configure for each blog.
hm, i have an account at wordpress.com, where can i get the API key? _________________

OK, i have installed it and sitewide activate it on all 5 hosts. Also i have hardcoded my API key in it and as long as i see it should work without touching anything else, right?
Please take a look and let me know if everything is all right about it..
Thanks! _________________

yeah, i was looking at that and was thinking about doing it..
tell me something.. is by default the comments that akismet think are spam, are being marked as spam in the database? I am asking, because it might not be necessary to check that option in akismet as i have a cronjob already that deletes all "spam" marked comments automatically. It runs every 3 days.. _________________

yes akismet marks that comments as spam.
so your cronjob is doing exactly the same as that option. no need to activate it.
thank you |
