When I add galleries, I am noticing that most images are only cropped, for some thumbs, this is fine, but a lot are losing the scene and Im getting a small pic of a wall. Not really enticing to click on.

When I notice it after they are added, I can manually thumb, it seems like it crops to the proper aspect ratio I want, and resize off that, basically maintaining the scene. Is there anyway for this to happen when galleries are auto thumbed? Image Magick setting or something?

I changed over the GD because it seemed to run at least twice as fast, but will switch back if I can preserve the scenes in my thumbs.

well, it should be same using both GD or Image Magic, and all depends on the original images from which the script generates a thumb.. But if Image Magic works better for you, then switch to it..
