Kaktus, this is a weird one. It appears that some of my feeds are not updating, and some update differently depending on whether it's done from cron or the admin interface.

For example, my 'Bareback' feed seems unable to create new thumbs. So, when you click 'Update', the content rotates but the # entries on the admin interface doesn't change. Despite the fact that new content has been added, no thumbs have been created since April.

Other feeds behave somewhat differently, although I suspect these issues are related. For example my 'Twink' feed creates thumbs OK. However the ownership of the thumbs directory is different depending on whether you do it through the admin interface or cron. For example:

drwxrwxrwx 2 gscraper gscraper 4096 May 31 16:30 27829/
drwxrwxrwx 2 gscraper gscraper 4096 Jun 1 01:00 27845/
drwxrwxrwx 2 nobody nobody 4096 Jun 1 07:22 27949/
drwxrwxrwx 2 nobody nobody 4096 Jun 1 07:27 27950/

The first two thumb directories were created overnight by the cron job. The last two were created by my clicking the 'Update' button in the admin interface. This is all done by PHP, right? And PHP runs as 'nobody' (I'm not using suphp). So why the discrepancy? Maybe it's not an issue since they're created with 777 permission.

Other than this last thing, I can find no obvious discrepancy in any ownership or permissions, particularly with respect to feeds or feed templates. In other words, both working and non-working feeds seem to have the same ownership and permissions.

TIA for your usual good input.

I'm not sure this is relevant to the original problem, but it might be.

All the new content I added to the 'Bareback' category (mentioned above) is kicking out as 'bad' galleries. However I see nothing wrong with them. For example here is one that kicked out:

http://galleries.hotbarebacking.com/va/100507_hbb_kamrun_paul_gutbanga/

Looks fine to me. If you think this is unrelated I'll resubmit the offending galleries and see if that helps. Sometimes it does.

yes, that gallery won't work, because none of the thumbs is linked to an image or movile file. As you can see all the thumbs aren't clickable, and the movie is embedded.. probably thats the problem for everything you explained..

Oh I didn't know the image needed a hyperlink, so didn't even check for that. OK one mystery solved. Thanks.

What about the different ownership, depending on how the feed was updated?

And one more 'bad' gallery:

http://hosted.fleshlight.com/gallery/546/link/34106

This one has images linked to a .mov file.

about the ownership... your server is setup that way..

when you execute something from your browsers it goes through apahe+php which is probably owned by "nobody"

while the cronjob you have setup is probably under your own user in this case "gscraper".

Thats where the difference comes from..
