Kaktus
Hey, I have decided to move the domain where I have installed my Scripts to my other webhost, so I need some info on how to move/reinstall the scripts. I haven't setup my databases on most of my scripts, so I can just reinstall on new domain and create a new DB. But I do have a populated DB for SO, so I need instructions on how to export my existing DB (I am familiar with how to export mysql database in PHPAdmin), and import it into the new install.
Thanks
Rob |

Hey there, well are you using the free or paid version? because if you use paid version and wish to move it to another domain you will need it relicensed again a fee.
As about how to move the script:
1) zip the whole SO install directory.
2) export the whole mysql database.
3) create at your new host the new mysql database
4) unzip the package to your new domain
5) import the db to the new database
6) edit "soinfo.inc.php" to match your new mysql information.
7) check for 777 permissions as necessary on the files and dirs as in the install tutorial.
for each page on which you call template from SO you will need to update your linking codes, so that the templates are called from your new domain.. _________________

It's the same Domain that it is licensed for (Actually I am using the free version of SO, but have licensed version of BO, GS, and RP), I am just moving the existing domain to my other host since the hosting plan I signed up for with them has more bandwidth/disk space available (I host with 2 different webhosts for IP/Uptime reasons, and have my domains split between them). That's not an issue is it? |

when its same domain, you have no worries about licensing..
just follow those instrunctions and you should be fine. And never make the mistake to delete it from old domain before you you have made it working on the new domain! _________________
