My SO script was running just fine till yeterday, when my server webhost had some down time. Now when I get on one of my sites and click a gallery, I get this error message.

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /so/soout.php on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

My soout.php is set at 0644

Is this a permissions error, or something that my webhost needs to deal with?

Thanks!

looks like your host changed something. ask the support about that error, since it is generated by apache, not by the script.

Such error looks to me like some apache security modules that are being installed and causing it. Several my clients in the past had such a problem..

Greetings,

I've had the same issues (see the post below this one)

This is an issue with the mod_security module of Apache. Long complex URLs will trigger a rule violation and not pass security of the module and a 403 error is presented.

If mod_security is visible to your host, you can turn it off via .htaccess, however if it is like my host, mod_security runs in stealth mode and they had to add my domain to a 'white list' that allows mod_security to ignore that domain.

In your case it sounds like the hosting 'downtime' was an upgrade and the system wide mod_security was turned on.

Cheers!
