I am trying to display a template and all I'm getting is a blank screen. See:
b a r e b a c k k i n g . c o m
I have tried both 'normal' and curl implementations; no difference.
I did have a small problem with curl mode in which it yielded a 500 server error. However, changing the perms on the sohtml directory to 755 corrected this. Also had a small problem executing php from a .htm file; but a tweak of .htaccess fixed that.
One weird thing is that so/sohtml/barebackking.php gets updated when I edit the template. However, there is NOTHING in it. Does that make any sense?
TIA for your help. |

hi there, glad you fixed the problems you had.
about the templates being blank is that because either you haven't put any content in them and variables that output content from the database, or you have put variables that display content from types and niches you don't have anything imported yet in the database.
As you see your template sources and built pages have 0 length.
So go and edit your templates in the SO admin and in the big textarea at the bottom of the screen put the template output code.. _________________

OK, I'm having trouble figuring out what goes where. I saw the big textarea at the bottom. You said "put the template output code" there. What the heck does that mean? Can you give me some detail about what goes here?
I'm finding that the documentation takes a lot for granted as far as how much the user knows. Since I know NOTHING about galleries, it's hard for me to follow it. |

Oh, wait. The lightbulb just came on. The code snippets go in the big window below. I thought they went in the Link Format blanks above. Duh.
Now I'm getting some output. Thanks for your help. |
