I have chmod'd soinfo.inc.php, sohtml, sotemp and thumbs. i also typed in the proper db name, host name, username and password. I also uploaded files in binary mode.
when I clicked on the install button on the so-install.php, this gives me the message:
Query to MySQL Failed: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'out bigint(20) NOT NULL default '0', galsalltime bigint(20) NOT NULL default '' at line 5
what's wrong? |

hm, it is an error with a mysql query the install file does to create the necessary tables in the mysql..
probably the mysql server is kinda old. Can you please ask your host what version is your mysql server?

i don't think zend optimizer will fix the problem, since this is a problem with the mysql..

| you say it's in the mysql while my hosting provider said they have the latest mysql and the problem is not on theirs. i am confused... |

well, yes, i am 100% sure its something with the mysql.
also i am almost sure it is from your host, since this install file works for every other user of the script out there and noone complained from such a problem like yours..
Anyways, we must try to find your issue. Can you please provide me ftp and mysql access (phpmyadmin) to your server, so i can go and investigate and find a solution.. Just PM them here or hit me up on icq..

huh, i remember this case. I found out the problem and fixed it, but seems lik i forgot to release the fix. Give me couple of mins and will release it now along with the rest things i fixed in so, coz there were some small problems with some of the new features in v 2.0

v 2.1 just released.
guru just grab the full install package again and reupload everything to your server, and continue with install.
